Company Information

Company History

Craigowl Services Ltd started up in October 1995, to act as agents and distributors for Mikro-Technik GmbH & Co. KG., a family owned German company based in Miltenberg am Main, south east of Frankfurt. For over thirty years, Mikro-Technik have been manufacturing a unique range of cellulose ethers (Carboxymethyl cellulose or CMC), Cellulose Powders/Fibres and PTFE and UHMW polyethylene extrusions.
The principal Director of Craigowl was born and brought up in Dundee; a major port and manufacturing city on the east coast of Scotland - famous for Jute, Jam and Journalism. The city is hemmed in between the River Tay estuary to the south, and a range of hills called the Sidlaws to the north. The highest of these hills is Craigowl -  in Scots Gaelic "Creag gobhal" meaning "forked hill" since it splits into two ridges to the north. Craigowl Hill is topped by a forest of masts, and is visible for miles around. We chose this name for our Company to remind us of our mis spent youth!

Since our incorporation, our product range has expanded somewhat. We now offer a complete range of Drilling Fluid additives for Oil and Water  well drilling, a range of adhesives for the Outdoor Advertising industry, specialised rheology modifiers for  Agrochemical industries, special cellulose fibres for Paperclay and other craft potter applications, suspension agents for ceramic glazes, and an ever increasing range of digital images. Have a look at the "Products" page for the complete range.
